*Note regarding popcorn ceiling removal: we will not remove popcorn ceilings in homes built prior to 1980, as the materials likely contain asbestos. For homes built between 1980-1990, we require professional asbestos testing in order to remove; we will remove popcorn in homes built after 1990.

CRACKED & PEELING

The bathroom ceiling paint was cracked and peeling in this classic home in South Minneapolis. We completed extensive ceiling repair over the shower/bath and did a lot of patching prior to painting the ceiling. (Note: make sure to have bathroom fans/ventilation in good working order to prevent or delay peeling or cracked paint!) Painting the walls a darker color created a nice contrast and left the ceiling looking bright and clean.

DRYWALL REPLACEMENT

Due to inadequate ventilation in this city home, the popcorn ceiling and drywall above this shower was starting to come loose. We scraped off the popcorn, cut out and replaced a portion of the drywall, replaced it, skim coated, primed with oil primer, then replaced the popcorn and painted. It takes a little time and patience (and a lot of cleanup!), but this repair should last many years to come.

SAGGING CEILING

This ceiling had the popcorn removed in the past, but the entire ceiling was starting to sag. We screwed in the drywall to restore the integrity of the ceiling then patched, primed with oil primer to protect against moisture, and painted with a flat paint to hide imperfections.
